Employees are eligible to participate in the Benefits Program on the 1st of the month following 90 days of full time employment.
Medical Benefits
Blessey offers a group PPO health insurance plan that includes medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage. Employees pay $35 per month for single coverage and $235 per month for dependent coverage.
After 3 years of service, Blessey pays 33% of your family health insurance premium.
After 6 years of service, Blessey pays 66% of your family health insurance premium.
After 10 years of service, Blessey pays 100% of your family health insurance premium.
Single coverage is paid at 100% at 3 years of service.
Life Insurance
Blessey provides life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance as listed below:
Deckhand $20,000
Tankerman $30,000
Pilot $40,000
Relief Captain $45,000
Captain $50,000
Short Term Disability
Blessey pays for short term disability coverage. After a 14 day elimination period, this insurance will pay 60% of your salary up to $1,000 per week for 11 weeks if you are sick or injured and unable to work.
401(k) Retirement
Employees are eligible to participate after completion of 6 months of employment. For 2007, employees can save up to $15,500 in pre-tax dollars for retirement. Blessey matches contributions, dollar for dollar, up to 4%.
Optional Voluntary Benefits
Long Term Disability - If you are unable to work after short term disability ends, long term disability will pay 60% of your salary up to $5,000 per month until you reach age 65.*
Additional Life Insurance, Spousal Life Insurance and Children’s Life Insurance available at group rates*
Supplemental Cancer benefit of $10,000 per year available for employee, spouse, and children
